North American Veterinary Conference (NAVC) was held, as always, in Orlando, FL from January 13 to 17. This very busy conference has attracted more than 350 speakers to deliver 1400 hours of educational programs.
At the exhibition hall, Asuka Laser Systems was one of the 4 leading laser suppliers. New product from Asuka was the 30 Watt diode laser model ADL-30D. This model has 2 output ports of the laser beam. Eventually we developed a double-launch Forceps-type Laser Dissector. This new tool makes the diode laser really powerful cutting device.
We also exhibited the diode laser model DVL-15. Among different handpieces, the Forceps-type Laser Dissector drew a great deal of attention as it can simultaneously dissect and seal blood vessel of up to 3 mm and does not require ligament.
Many doctors are now talking about endoscopy to achieve minimally-invasive surgery. The Diode Laser, unlike CO2 laser, is delivered by optical fiber and guided through both rigid and flexible endoscopes. If you are working, or plan to work, with endoscopes, you will consider having a diode laser for your practice. The future is obviously proceeding toward minimally-invasive surgery.
*Bowtie Publications, the publisher of Veterinary Practice News, provided amusing service at their booth. They took a picture of a person to print it on a false version of the VPN. Anyone could appear on its front cover as an honorable "industry leader." Hopefully it won't be long before this page becomes real.

North American Veterinary Conference (NAVC) is just around the corner. This annual event will take place in the Gaylord Palms Resort and the Marriott Orlando World Center in Orlando from January 14 through 17.
Asuka Laser will participate the trade show at booth #1933. We are excited to introduce new Diode Laser model ADL-30D. This model delivers high output power of 30 W through flexible fiber delivery system. Combined with the Dual Probe Forceps-type Laser Dissector which is also recently developed to exclusively utilize with the ADL-30D, surgeons are assured to have adequate high power at hand for incision and dissection. Drop by at our booth #1933 and experience the high power Diode Laser.
In addition to the 30 W model, DVL-15 diode laser system will be exhibited for the visitors to try and feel the diode laser surgery. Asuka Laser staff will be waiting for your visit and are willing to answer any of the questions you might have. See you in Orlando! |

American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) took place at Wardman Park
Marriott Hotel in Washington D.C. on October 5 through 7. Approximately
1,500 veterinary professionals attended this meeting. At the exhibition
hall, Asuka Laser Systems was one of the 4 leading laser suppliers. We
exhibited the already-known diode laser model DVL-15 and its accessories.
Among different handpieces, the Forceps-type Laser Dissector drew a great
deal of attention as it can simultaneously dissect and seal blood vessel of
up to 3 mm and does not require ligament.
Diode lasers are utilized by small animal clinics and practices. What we
learned during this meeting, however, is that many equine surgeons are
already familiar to the diode laser and many of them have an opinion that 15
W is powerful enough to perform diode laser surgery. Obviously one single
tool is hardly best suited for every type of surgeries and treatments. The
diode laser has a wider variety of applications. And it will have an
important role both for small and large animal surgeons.
To those who stopped by at our exhibition booth, we thank you very much.
And to those who missed to do so in Washington D.C., we want to see you at
NAVC 2007 in Orlando in January.

We just finished another successful trade show and came back from Honolulu. According to the organizer, more than ten thousand attendees including 3,900 veterinarians visited the convention and the trade show. The trade show was arranged in such a comfortable atmosphere that both visitors and exhibitors could extend contact and talk in a pleasant air. Needless to say, everyone must have enjoyed Hawaiian music and dancing on a stage in the exhibition hall. We want to thank the organizer for a nice arrangement.
We exhibited our flagship product DVL-15 diode laser and its accessories. The visitors were given opportunities to try it out with different handpieces. The Forceps-type Laser Dissector drew a great deal of attention from many veterinarians as it can simultaneously dissect and seal blood vessel of up to 3 mm without bleeding. The diode laser DVL-15 was demonstrated to be used with rigid or flexible endoscopes. The optical fiber attached to the main body is inserted into the endoscope so that the tip of the fiber is set in the visual field of the scope. When a CCD camera is attached to the scope, a surgeon can perform video laser-endoscopy. (We want to thank Endoscopy Support Services, Inc. for allowing us to use their arthroscope and a sheath.)
To those who stopped by at our exhibition booth, we thank you very much. And to those who missed to do so in Honolulu, we want to see you at ACVS in Washington DC in October.
